The conditions of the world are SUPPOSED to be
bad, but Joel joined the people to show that there was a DIFFERENCE between
what was holy and unholy....

Our outside situations are not at all related to
what is happening on the inside of us....

This call is to the church, NOT to the world....

Remember: He wants to change us FIRST before He
changes our situations!....

His pattern has ALWAYS been to change us before
He changes our situations....

Remember: The only dependency that is authorized
for Israel was for them to depend on the Lord for everything....

“Then will the Lord be jealous...and pity His
people” is a Covenant dynamic....
·
When the work of repentance is done, and He
restores our place, then the people will know that He is in the midst of us,
not just because we said so....

·
We WERE sinners, but we are now a NEW
CREATION....
·
Not what we SAY He is, but how we SEE Him....
·
The foundation for us laying hold of Him is His
Covenant, His Purpose and His Praise....

Why are we “binding” Satan when the Lord Himself
was the one that put him on us in the first place?

He is also, and at the same time, quite
severe....

Just like He’s good, He is also severe (Joshua
23:15-16)....
·
Remember: If He didn’t correct us, we didn’t
belong to Him in the first place!....

“Don’t despise the chastening of the Lord”
(Proverbs 3:11-12)....

“He chastens us FOR OUR PROFIT, that we might be
